Q4 2020 Virtual Pet App Performance in Latin America

In the last quarter of 2020, the virtual pet category saw significant activity in Latin America, with a diverse range of apps engaging users across the region. Sensor Tower provides a closer look at the performance of the top five applications in this genre.

My Cat – Virtual Pet Games from Akita Limited Liability Company witnessed a fluctuating trend in downloads starting at 58K in late September, peaking at 78K in mid-October, and then gradually declining to 54K by the end of December. Weekly active users showed a decrease from 241K to 217K over the quarter, with a notable drop in early November.

My Talking Tom 2, developed by Outfit7 Limited, maintained a strong download count, beginning with 565K and ending the quarter with an increase to 584K. Active users showed a steady increase over the period, starting at 6.1M and growing to 6.3M by the year's end.

Another Outfit7 Limited creation, My Talking Angela, also demonstrated consistent performance. The app's downloads ranged from 470K to 526K, while active users climbed from 4.5M at the beginning of the quarter to 4.9M in the last week of December.

The newer My Talking Tom Friends, released in mid-2020, showed a strong presence with downloads starting at 733K and finishing the quarter at 649K. The app's weekly active users were substantial, starting at 7.9M and peaking at 8.4M in mid-October before settling at 7.3M at the close of the quarter.

Lastly, My Talking Tom sustained stable download numbers beginning at 360K and rising to 437K. Active users for this app showed slight variability but remained around the 2.7M to 2.8M range throughout the quarter.
